Building Halal assurance from within – training empowered committee members for stronger compliance leadership.

📌 Overview

On 21–22 January 2025, UHAC successfully conducted a Halal Competency In-House Training session for the internal Halal team of Bersatu Integrated Logistic Sdn. Bhd., based in Pelabuhan Klang.

A total of 10 officially appointed Internal Halal Committee (IHC) members participated in this two-day structured and compliance-driven session, facilitated by Puan Athirah Saidi.

This training aligns with the Malaysian Halal Certification Procedure Manual (MPPHM Domestik) 2020, which requires Halal Competency Training at least once every three (3) years for all formally appointed IHC members.

🎯 Training Objectives

The main goals of this program were to:

  • Increase the technical and regulatory understanding of internal Halal governance.

  • Equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to implement and monitor the Halal Assurance System (HAS).

  • Foster full understanding of JAKIM’s Halal Certification requirements, MS1500:2019, and audit preparedness.

  • Strengthen the operational role of the IHC in managing day-to-day Halal compliance.

This training fulfills a mandatory component of JAKIM’s Halal Certification compliance under MPPHM 2020, which stipulates that all IHC members must undergo Halal Competency Training every three (3) years through a registered Halal training provider.
